Happy new year everyone!I want to express a big thank you to everyone who came out to help out at our 36th annual Christmas train show.. Also, thank you to all those who helped us get ready for the Christmas show as well. You all played an important part in making this year show a great success . Everything ran relatively well with few issues and the few issues we had were resolved quickly. The Christmas dinner party at Edgewater brewery was well attended with I believe 35 to 40 members and their spouses and family. It was good to see everyone who attended. Hopefully everyone had a good time. Generally, it sounded like the food was good for the most part. However, we ran into the same issue as last year at Edgewater, where some folks didn’t get their food with everyone else’s, and were the last to eat. Apparently, the kitchen staff cannot handle a group of our size. So, for this coming year’s Christmas party, we need to explore a different venue. Our January business meeting was attended by 13 members. It was reported that members dues were paid by 46 out of 68 members. Of the members who haven’t paid their dues, please submit your dues or let us know your status and that regard. We also Gave out applications for membership to five individuals during the Christmas show and of the five we have three new members.G scale, reports performing maintenance as required.N scale, ran well during the Christmas show thanks to Asher and Mickey. A little kids really liked the scale layout.HO scale, electrical/wiring issues are being addressed and updated by Jim, Mickey, and David.Scenery work on the island is getting set to resume as well. Some of our NCE pro cabs are becoming troublesome, so they are being evaluated to determine what needs to be done to get them in working order.Terry bought a couple additional IKEA rolling shelves units for locomotive storage. Also, David, Rich Matthews, and Tom Jones have built additional shelves in the rip track/desk area. The club also has a supply of club vests available for members to purchase at $25 each. Thank you to Ashley Tan Green for her time and effort and arranging these best.On a social activity side of the club. There were suggestions made for spring/summer activities, such as layout tours, visiting the Yunta, Railroad and Carpenter, Georgetown Loop, Ridgeway Railroad Museum, and of course we can hopefully get a few barbecue cookouts events in there too. If anyone has any suggestions, please contact a board member to share your thoughts. The audit committee, comprising of Ashley, Ron, and Stuart completed their audit review and everything was in order.Since the audit has been completed, we can proceed to work on the clubs budget. The budget needs to be completed by the end of February. The board will be meeting to complete and submit the club’s nonprofit 501C3 paperwork to the IRS.In regards to the budget.
