Hello fellow club members,

Our club had it’s Spring barbecue picnic at Cross Orchards this last saturday, April 26. We had about 22/24 member’s and their families join us. I want to thank everyone that attended and everyone that brought food to share and all those that helped to set up tables, grill and cooler with beverages , condiments and utensils and of course our master chef manning the grill. We had planned to have the picnic in the usual place out under the trees by the G-scale layout. But the wind factor forced us to move our event indoors . Cross Orchards allowed  us to use their meeting room in their office space to get in out of the wind. Thank you to Cross Orchards for helping us out. 

Also, a reminder that on Saturday, May 10th is National Train Day! That event will be celebrated along with a fundraiser being held at the old depot (Rio Grande ) downtown Grand Junction, next to the Amtrak station. The fundraiser is to raise funds to aid in the renovation of the old depot. I believe there will be food available at this event as well as other fundraising activities. Please come and see what it’s all about and support this worthwhile event. I believe this event will be held from 11 am to 3 or 4pm.

Remember that May 12th is our monthly business meeting at 7pm, held in the Cross Orchard office. Please join us.
