Greetings fellow club members,I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.The club has elected some new board of directors. They are as follows: President - Mark Tauber, Vice President- David Montoni-Tiller, Treasurer- Jim Hall and Secretary-Micheal Nuttall.I want to thank all of the club members who participated and for their votes. I also want to extend a special thank you to Mickey for his many years of service to the GVMRC as president and valued member.The annual Christmas party will be held at Edgewater Brewery on Monday December 9, 2024.Please arrive between 5-5:45 pm. We will need to get our dinner orders in before 6pm, so we can all enjoy our dinners together.The 36th Annual Christmas Show at Cross Orchards will run on December 14,15,21,22,28 & 29. Show times will run from 9am-3pm. This Christmas show is the club’s most important fundraising event.With that in mind, we will need volunteers both before and during the Christmas show. Not only to run trains, but to clean up our space in the clubhouse and also to interact with the guests that attend. Please let us know when you can be available to volunteer by email or sign up on the whiteboard in the clubhouse. We will also be holding some brief orientation meeting on Thursday before and Saturday morning of the first show date. This will pertain to the running of trains during the show dates. Please arrive a little early on the show dates so we can have trains ready and running when we open the doors at 9am.Also, the club is scheduled for a show for School District 51 “special needs students” on December 18 @ 10am. I would appreciate any volunteers that can help with this event.The G scalers have been busy working on and making improvements on their outdoor layout. Their winter hours are 1pm on Thursday afternoons. Inside the clubhouse work has been progressing on the HO/HON3 layouts. Scenery and electrical improvements have been the main focus . Thank you all for your hard work to make GVMRC a success. This is your club, your efforts make this club something we can all enjoy and be proud of. Happy Holidays to all of you!
