The last two months, the activities of the club have not been normal. We have been working on inventory! We started with engines. We moved everything out of the Grand Junction freight yards, Then all the participating members grabbed an engine, ran it, tested it for both lights and sound, wrote it up and placed it in the GJ yard. A list of existing engines in Decoder Pro was produced, and any engine not on the list is being added. All duplicate engines and non existing engines were removed. From Decoder pro, a spreadsheet of all club engines is being produced. When all engines were documented, we started creating a car inventory. Every car was checked for road name, length, type of car, color, checked for steel wheels, Kadee couplers, and resistors. A card was made for every car. After documenting the cars they were put into boxes. Any car that was not appropriate for our layout have been separated out and are for sale, first to members and then on E bay. A spreadsheet is being created, giving us our car inventory. Michael gave us list of the cars needed for operations, We pulled the needed cars out of the boxes and placed them on the layout. Last week the process of creating the trains for operations began. Operations will begin in a couple of weeks. In addition to the inventory work, we have had four groups of school kids that have come to Cross Orchards on school field trip on scheduled mornings. Additional tours are as follows: April 4th School tour 10:00April 19th School tour 10:00April 21st School tour 10:00May 17th Senior tour 10:00 Come out if you are help if you can.
