Last month we Had our annual business meeting in the Orchard Room at Cross Orchards. About 16 members were present. Last month we had 5 new member join the club. This month we had 7 new members: Bill Wade, Art Chase, Billy and Janie Nelson, Donovan Nettles,Isaah Barnnhill and Michael Courtney. This brings our total membership to 61.The G scalers are available at CrossOrchards, Thursday mornings and every Saturday morning, They have been quite an attraction on the farmers market days. Asher Tangreen has been keeping the N Scale layout active. In addition to operating it, he has spent quite a bit of time fixing the electrical problems that have plagued it for the last several years. Thank you Asher! We have been working on the signals on the HO layout, both fixing problems and installing additional signals. We have had quite a few new donations that Terry Berg and Rich Mathews have been sorting out. Club members have purchased quite a bit of the new equipment. We have been conducting operations for about 6 weeks now and will continue for several more sessions. On Thursday Sept 7 , Mickey will present a workshop on De Mystifying DCC on our layout. On August about 12 people from our club traveled to Ridgeway to go thru their museums and ride their Galloping Goose. After lunch they traveled to Cimmeron to see the narrow gauge engine displayed on a trestle. Nicholas Johnson has b been working on a new club logo for the better part of the summer. He opes to have it complete by November. The old Logo was destroyed by sun!Billy and Janie Nelson have volunteered to organize a Barbecue for Members and families on Saturday, Sept 16. More information will be forthcoming soon. There will be a signup sheet in the clubhouse so we will know how much food to purchase.The dates for this ears Greeley trip have been set to Oct, 5 – 7. Some details are still being worked out.At our business meeting in September, we will be accepting nominations for officers. If you don't make the meeting you can give your nominations to Mickey. To be an officer you must have been a senior member ( an active member and at least 21 years of age) for 6 months.
