It is late October and winter is approaching quickly. The summer farmers markets and Fall Days on the Farm are behind us, and our annual Christmas is coming quickly. The G scalars had some washouts and trouble with deer, but they have things in hand. They have shifted there work sessions from Thursday mornings to Thursday afternoons. We cleaned up the club house for Fall Days on the Farm by clearing out the main isle, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning the track and generally cleaning up the layout. Terry and his crew have been working on partial completion of scenery on the Montrose Island. Jim Hall has been correcting some electrical problems and improving the access lighting at the back gate in preparation for our dark evenings , and Michael has been working on new lighting projects. Terry has put out the latest on sale items for club members before he sells them on Ebay. In preparation for the Christmas show all of this needs to be redone The whole place needs to be dusted, windows and plexiglass cleaned, counters cleared off and washed, Engine wheels and track cleaned, tha swamp cooler drained and winterized, and the bathroom cleaned. At our last meeting we elected new officers: Mickey Nuttall – president, Mark Tauber – vice president, Mike Todey - treasure, Jim Hall – secretary, and Terry Berg – past president. We will have our annual Christmas dinner Dec. 12, at the Ale House from 5 - ?. We will order off the menu at 6:00. There is a sign up on the white board in the club house if you wish to attend. (signup is not mandatory for attendance) On November 10 at 4:00 PM, Matt Darling will make a presentation on the Uintah Railroad at Cross Orchards in the Orchard Room to the club.
