Last night at the club, we had our monthly business meeting. It was attended by 13 members. After the reading of the minutes and the treasures report, we got down to business. The first item we visited passed. We agreed to make the commitment to Cross Orchard to be open on the second and fourth Saturday each month this summer, while the farmers market is in session, June 4th thru Oct. 8th.The official opening of Cross orchards Is May 5th. We will be not be open on Saturdays. We normally would be open on the fourth Saturday (May 28th) but there is a special function taking place that day and they have requested us not to be present. If there is a change in this we will let you know. The G-scalers have been working outside putting in additional track and killing weeds. They are getting ready for the summer months and their own operations. In the HO building, we have continued to work on scenery, organize donations so they can be sold, and continue with operations. This past month we have operated several times. It has been different each time depending on how many members have been present. Each session was both successful and fun. A big thanks to Michael Nuttall is definitely given. His efforts have made the sessions successful. A lot of effort has taken place to make this upcoming operation session the best we have had yet. I STRONGLY encourage you to join us this Thursday. WE will also have an operating session Thursday April 21! Saturday April 23 is a special day for us. We will be visited by Carl Schaeffer of the Ridgeway Railroad Museum and the Territorial Daughters of Colorado. WE will display the HO layout (with multiple Gooses) and answer questions. At noon, we will proceed to the barn for a special presentation by Carl Schaeffer of the Ridgeway Railroad Museum, about the Galloping Goose on the Rio Grand Southern railroad. This presentation is open to all members.I hope to see you all sometime in April.
